(My last newsletter for 2024)
2024 is almost behind us, and we find ourselves saying the same thing every December: “This year flew by in a blink!” We said it about 2023. We said it about 2022. You see the pattern.
But here’s a thought—every year is uniquely fast, uniquely special. The problem? We forget. We forget how life looked 3, 5, or 10 years ago.
Time is the one resource slipping through our fingers, never to return. I’ve realized (again this year) that the number of times we’ll say, “Wow, this year just flew by,” is finite!.
Statistics tell us that each day, 150,000 people will not wake up. One day, it could be us.
How am I planning to invest (not spend) my down time?
This festing season, I intend to soak wisdom from mother Nature.Take a deep dive with my masters – through their teachings and books and spend time with loved ones.
Also, as this year ends, my mind turns to a wish for us all: A wish of peace and serenity. If I could gift anything to you and the world (with wars in Ukraine and Lebanon), it would be the strength to find peace amidst life’s chaos.
Let me leave you with this timeless wisdom as narrated by Reinhold Niebuhr, a Lutheran theologian (1892–1971)
“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
I would love to hear how you’re planning to invest (not spend) your downtime these holidays.
Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful, joyous holiday season.
